Missing climbers' bodies recovered in Fiordland

The bodies of two climbers have been recovered in Fiordland, after they were reported missing on Monday afternoon.

Police say the pair had been overdue for 24 hours when they were first reported missing in the Darren Mountains.

"A search by helicopter yesterday evening located the climbers at the base of a climbing face, where they had clearly suffered a fall," said Sergeant Tod Hollebon of Te Anau Police.

Police say they're in the process of contacting next of kin.
