The mother of Turiarangi Tai has taken to Facebook on video to plea for her son, wanted by police, to come forward.

"Hi Turi, this is mum," she says in a video posted by New Zealand Police on Monday.

"If you're hearing me right now, can you please come forward?"

His mother, named as Susan, says she is worried about him and just wants him to hand himself in.

Tai is wanted by police in relation to the fatal shooting of Chozyn Koroheke, who was gunned down in Pakuranga last Tuesday.

Authorities say anyone with information should contact Detective Mark Jamieson on (09) 261 1300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
