A man in Waiouru who was impaled by a branch on Saturday afternoon has been flown to hospital.
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was sent to the scene around 4:30pm.
The man had to be stabilised by St John paramedics before he could be flown to Whanganui Hospital.
It was a busy afternoon for the rescue chopper, having to immediately be sent back to Waiouru to pick up a man with back injuries in an unrelated incident. He was taken to Palmerston North Hospital.
