A man has been found on the side of a Western Bay of Plenty road with serious injuries and police have no idea how he got there.
Police assistance was requested by paramedics who were sent to rural Maniatutu Rd in Pongakawa around 1pm on Saturday. The man was airlifted to hospital.
Police are making enquiries about how he came to be on the side of the road.
