A worker at a band practise rehearsal space locked themselves inside an old bank vault on Sunday afternoon.
Three crews, including a technical rescue team, attended the Auckland Music Academy in Pakuranga, working to free the trapped soul.
The building was previously a National Bank. Its logo can still be seen on the roof in satellite imagery on Google Maps.
"Occupants at the old National Bank on William Roberts Rd report that 'the door closed behind a worker and locked itself'," the fire service said.
Half an hour later, they reported securing the person's freedom.
