Auckland Council set to vote on a controversial bed tax

The Auckland tourism sector is set to find out if the controversial bed tax will go ahead. Councillors will vote for the rating increase as part of the super city's $3.8 billion budget proposal for the next year.

It's the centrepiece of Mayor Phil Goff's first budget, and could raise up to $14 million to help promote Auckland.
