Around 500 households are waking up without power on Auckland's North Shore on Friday morning.
A car crashed into a power pole on Nile Rd in Milford around 8:30 on Thursday, bringing down lines and plunging more than 800 homes into darkness.
Power company Vector says electricity will be restored to the homes still without power later this morning.
The driver received minor injuries in the crash.
