Police have confirmed one person died in a car fire in Queenstown on Tuesday night, when the car exploded.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Jardine Park in Kelvin Heights at 9:30pm on Tuesday.
Armed police blocked off the entire suburb while the fire service put out the blaze.
A fire investigator is at the scene on Wednesday morning, and police say they cannot speculate on how the fire may have started.
