A woman will be charged with manslaughter after shooting her lifelong friend in Hamilton last month.

The 23-year-old was granted interim name suppression until her next appearance at the Hamilton High Court on June 27.

The shooting occurred at a Seddon Road property, opposite Seddon Park, at about 8pm on May 30, after she and the man had allegedly been drinking all day.

The man shot was the woman's lifelong friend.

She was also charged with other firearm-related offences.

Police also have an arrest warrant out for 39-year-old Anthony Brett Clegg, who was allegedly in the house at the time of the shooting.
