The parents of a budding west-Auckland rugby star killed by a train have joined a campaign called one ear out to help prevent further deaths.

16-year-old Keenan Matthes was out jogging and wearing headphones when he was struck by a train in Ranui.

His mother Karamea Matthes spoke to Duncan Garner.
