Photos released of knife-wielding Petone TAB robber

Wellington police have released photographs of the man behind a vicious aggravated robbery at a gambling outlet in Lower Hutt.

The man entered the TAB on Jackson St in Petone at 7:55pm, and appears on the CCTV footage.

The attack, which happened on Wednesday night, saw the robber get into a scuffle with a worker, before slashing a fellow patron's arm with a knife and fleeing with cash.

Police describe the perpetrator as being a Caucasian in his 30s, about 1.75m tall and clean-shaven. In the footage he was wearing dark clothes.

They are urging anyone who recognises him or has information that may help in his identification to come forward.
