Name suppression has been lifted for the teenager accused of setting fire to a Piha fish and chip shop in a spate of arsons.

Cory Marson-Wood faces three arson-related charges, relating to a large scrub fire and another which gutted popular west Auckland takeaway Adey's Place in May.

The fires left many in the community concerned. Photo credit: Newshub.

He appeared in the Waitakere District Court on Thursday afternoon where he entered no pleas to the charges.

Marson-Wood, who was arrested in Tauranga days after the fires, was granted bail.

He's set to reappear in court later this month.
