Ten people were treated at Tauranga Hospital on Saturday night after a suspected chemical contamination incident.
The 10, including nine teenagers and a man in his 40s, all came in complaining of eye irritation.
A Bay of Plenty DHB spokeswoman says emergency services were called around 6:30pm.
The fire service isolated the group in the emergency department at the hospital and gave them showers.
It was reported the teens were part of a rugby team and the older man, their coach.
At last reports they were in a stable condition.
