Horrific Levin car crash claims three lives

Three people have died after a car burst into flames after it was crashed into a parked truck in Levin.

The fire was so bad police say could take weeks before the identity of victims can be confirmed.

Newshub has recieved unconfirmed reports there were three men in the car, and they were under the age of 25.

Locals have gathered to watch the clean up. Two women who came out of their house after hearing the crash told Newshub before anyone could get to the car to check on the occupants, it exploded.

"All you could see were flames," they said.

The car came down McArthur St, crashing into the middle of a truck and trailer parked on the side of Cambridge St.

The truck was carrying massive rolls of paper, which went up in flames.
