A man has been killed after being hit by a car in the Christchurch suburb of Sydenham on Tuesday night.
Huxley St has been closed after the crash at around 9:40pm and police are investigating.
A police spokesperson told Newshub it's believed the man was a pedestrian, however a further investigation into the crash will be taking place.
The driver stopped at the scene after the crash, police said.
Diversions have been put in place and the road closed while the serious crash unit investigates.
