Three women in their 20s and a four-year-old girl who went missing in the Silverpeaks, near Dunedin, on Friday night have been found.
The group were meant to return from a short walk on Friday afternoon, but were reported missing that evening.
They were last heard from around 4pm, and weren't believed to be equipped for a night in the open.
Dozens of police and LandSAR volunteers searched for the group, and found them around 1am - a person in a helicopter wearing night vision goggles spotting the light from one of the group's cellphones.
Apart from being very cold, they were unhurt.
