A 61-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to supplying firearms to Quinn Patterson, the man who shot and killed a Northland rental agent and her daughter.

Michael John Hayes appeared in the Whangarei District Court Monday, facing multiple charges of giving Patterson weapons that included military-style semi-automatic shotguns, rifles and ammunition.

The alleged offences took place between March 1 and May 1 this year at a rural property near in Whangarei.

Wendy Campbell Rodgers and her daughter Natanya Campbell were gunned down by Quinn Patterson on July 26, as they approached his Mt Tiger Rd property for a routine rental inspection.

A contractor Jeff Pipe was also shot, but survived.

Patterson died after police said he set his home alight following the shooting.

Hayes has been remanded on bail to reappear in court in October.
