4.3 magnitude earthquake in Canterbury

Canterbury has been hit with a 4.3 magnitude earthquake.

GeoNet says the quake was felt at 12:51pm, and is described as of "moderate" intensity.

The epicentre was at Culverden, a town north of Christchurch, and was 15km deep.

More than 150 people have reported feeling it, from as far away as Hastings.

There are no reports of damage.
