A fire at a Bay of Plenty sawmill has been contained to the boiler room.
Fire and Emergency NZ were called to the blaze at Pukepine Sawmills on Te Puke Highway shortly after 6am on Sunday.
The 30m by 20m boiler room was well ablaze when firefighters arrived and there were concerns it could spread to a nearby sawdust silo.
Ten fire appliances, including two water tankers, attended the fire, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said.
Firefighters remain at the sawmill to damp down hotspots.
A fire investigator is also there.
No one was injured and only water was used to fight the fire so there are no contamination issues.
The mill is on a 7.8h site and has annual output of 100,000 cubic metres, with nine drying kilns, according to the company's website.
