Labour leader Jacinda Ardern and National leader Bill English have been captured for immortality in two stunning portraits available on Trade Me.

A metre-wide Hazel Hunt oil painting shows Ms Ardern with her hands to her face and a look of horror on her face.

"With the election so close and my "Labour" of love being art... THE SCREAM came to mind, inspired by the famous Edvard Munch's 'THE SCREAM' painting," the seller says.

"I wonder if anyone at the voting polls feel like this?"

The A4 size watercolour portrait on paper by painter Sarah Usher shows Mr English looking thin-lipped off to the side.

"Beautiful portrait of our new president ;)," the seller says.

"Bill said he didn't want to buy my painting as he thinks it doesn't look like him but you can buy it and hang it in your lounge."

Both close on Thursday, and the current bids are just over $300.
