A Royal New Zealand Air Force Orion aircraft has made a safe landing, after reportedly losing one of its engines.
Earlier reports suggested the aircraft was flying on one engine, as fire crews prepared for an emergency landing at Whenuapai Royal NZ Air Force base in Auckland.
Fairfax reports the plane suffered a mechanical issue shortly after 7pm, but it managed to land safely.
