A 20-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a bus in Christchurch on Wednesday.
Police say they were notified of the incident between a bus and a pedestrian on Solway Avenue just before lunchtime.
However the bus had left the scene by the time emergency services arrived.
Police are conducting enquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
