The ski season may be almost over, but that's not stopping enthusiasts from hitting the slopes.

Some chose to strip off in the name of breast cancer, zipping down in shorts and bikinis to raise more than $650.

More than 75 skiers and snowboarders raced down Turoa ski field for the annual Turoa Bikini Downhill race.

Breast Cancer Foundation NZ chief executive Evangelia Henderson said the bikini event was a "wonderful way to raise both money and awareness".

"We are always amazed at the creative ways in which our community supports us."
