A person trapped in a vehicle after a serious crash near Dunedin on Saturday has been freed and taken to hospital.
The single car crashed at the intersection of Tirohanga Rd and Outram-Mosgiel Rd just before 3pm.
The car's only occupant was trapped inside. They have since been removed and taken to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries.
Police remain at the scene and the road is expected to remain closed for some time while the serious crash unit completes its work.
Diversions are in place and traffic is being diverted onto Gladfield Rd and School Rd.
