Three people have been detained by police after an aggravated robbery at a Palmerston North dairy.
Two people entered the store on the corner of Alexander Street and Dampier Avenue, Awapuni, late on Thursday afternoon.
They carried weapons and threatened a staff member, before taking tobacco items and fleeing on foot.
Police arrived shortly after 6:15pm. With the help of information from the public, the officers and a dog unit quickly apprehended three people, who are now assisting the police with their enquiries.
Support is being provided to the staff member at the dairy who was threatened.
