The Kiwiest Google Street View shot yet

There are few things more quintessentially Kiwi than that moment your road trip comes to a temporary halt as a farmer herds their sheep down the road.

That iconic moment has made it onto Google Maps, with a series of photos capturing the moment a farmer chases after his flock in Lowther, Southland.

In the photos, the road can be seen to be blocked by a flock of sheep, with a farmer running after and herding them.

The sheep can be seen hogging the road in several consecutive shots as the car travels down a portion of the road, before finally an image appears where they're safely in their paddock, with the farmer standing guard at the gate.

The shot was taken in December 2009, according to Google Maps, but it's only recently gained popularity.

One image in the series was shared on the 'Only In New Zealand' Facebook page on Saturday.

"Just your typical google street view lol," they wrote.
