Evacuations have been carried out after a fire broke out near Lake Hayes, Queenstown.
Fire crews from Frankton, Queenstown and Arrowtown attended the 100 square-metre blaze on Slope Hill on Tuesday morning, while police assisted with the evacuations.
Three helicopters were called in to help.
It is unclear whether or not the fire has been contained.
There have been no reports of injury or structural damage.
