A large manufacturing plant is on fire south of Mataura, near Gore, in Southland.
Dongwha New Zealand produces MDF wood products, and Newshub understands the blaze began at one of the plant's dryer cyclones.
Fire communications shift manager Brent Dunn has confirmed 11 fire crews are on route, including a specialist crew from Invercargill.
This is not the first time the factory has caught fire - there was an explosion at the site in 2016 and a number of fires in previous years.
More to come.
