Police have managed to successfully find and rescue the Rottweiler puppy stolen from his owner's arms on Monday.

Ten-week-old Rosko was stolen from his owner Grace Read on Monday in the driveway of her Castor Bay home.

Ms Read said she was assaulted by a pair of strangers who grew aggressive when she would not let them inside her house.

They knocked her to the ground and then ripped Rosko from her arms before fleeing.

On Friday evening police announced Rosko had been found safe and well at an address in Stanmore Bay.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested.

Two women are also facing charges - a 26-year-old has been charged with making a false statement and a 20-year-old has been charged with offering to supply cannabis and attempting to procure commission of an offence.

Police are still looking for two more people in relation to the theft.

Ms Read said she is very happy to have her dog back and thankful to police for their work on the case.
