Fires which broke out at a central Auckland apartment block today are being treated as "very suspicious".
Sprinklers saved the 32-storey building, which is currently under construction, from erupting in flames.
Fifteen fire trucks raced to the scene at the Parks Residences complex on Albert Street at about 2:30pm on Monday afternoon.
The sprinkler system kicked into action, so firefighters only had to mop up water after they arrived.
Earlier on Monday at 10am, another fire started from a stove at the same location.
The Fire Service told Newshub the fires are now completely extinguished, and are being treated as very suspicious.
Investigations are under way.
