A 68-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a 78-year-old man in South Taranaki on Tuesday.
"Emergency services were called to an address in Normanby at around 7pm," says Detective Sergeant Philip Skoglund.
"The 78-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound but died at the scene."
The suspect was arrested and will appear in the New Plymouth District Court on Wednesday.
Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
