Up to seven vehicles were involved in a crash that blocked all traffic heading north on Auckland's Southwestern Motorway on Wednesday.
The multi-car accident happened at approximately 4pm at the Maioro St off-ramp, just before the Waterview tunnel.
There were no reported injuries.
The incident is currently blocking all northbound lanes, and the New Zealand Transport Agency advises motorists to avoid the area and travel via an alternate route.
A truck breakdown near the Orams Road ovebridge means those heading south on the Southern Motorway are also facing delays.
The breakdown has been cleared but NZTA has advised motorists that the area will be congested for some time.
