Police have named the two people killed when a petrol tanker and car crashed at Marsden Point in Northland on Friday.
They were 31-year-old Porsche Nepia and his son Tyrhys Hita, who was 11 years old. They lived at Ruakaka.
The accident happened at 12:10pm on Friday at the intersection of Rama Road and Port Marsden Highway, 35km southeast of Whangarei.
New Zealand's only oil refinery is at Marsden Point.
Police have also named the victim of a crash on the West Coast on Thursday. Christchurch's Jenny Lau, 56, was killed in the crash on the Otira Highway.
