A manhunt is underway after a man was shot in Dannevirke on Friday morning.
Police were called to a property on Hunter St in the central North Island township at about 11am, but only arrived after the offender left.
A white station wagon was seen leaving the home after the shooting took place.

Police know who the culprit is, and are currently attempting to track them down.
Despite the shooter still being on the run, police say they are confident there is no risk to the public.
Residents of Hunter St have been advised to expect police to be present in the area on Friday as they investigate the incident.
