More than 300 tourists are currently being helicoptered out of Doubtful Sound, Fiordland, after the road was blocked by a slip after heavy rain.
Tourism company Real Journeys says they have started taking the tourists over the slip for a boat ride back to Manapouri.
A spokesperson could not confirm whether they will all make it out tonight.
