School choir sings Jacinda Ardern's praises - literally

If singing to an unborn baby is good for their development, then Jacinda Ardern is onto a winner.

The Prime Minister has been given a stunning performance by Choralation, the choir from Westlake Girls and Boys High Schools.

Ms Ardern was attending an awards ceremony on Thursday when she heard a familiar sound.

"I was sitting in the middle of an awards ceremony yesterday when I could have sworn I heard my name, so I followed the choir out," Ms Ardern wrote on Facebook.

The choir surrounded Ms Ardern and sung her name to the tune of 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', made famous in the cult classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Her partner, TV fishing show host and future stay-at-home dad Clarke Gayford, also got a mention.

"Jacinda Ardern!" they sang.

"Clarke Gayford, first man!"

And it was music to Ms Ardern's ears, as she smiled before bowing to the adoring crowd.

"So, so good. Thank you so much again!!" she told the teens.
