Seven people have been rushed to hospital after a two-car crash north of Whāngārei.
Emergency services were called to Jordan Valley Road near State Highway One in Hikurangi at half past three.
St John says two people are in a serious condition, three are moderate and two have minor injuries.
Police say there are at-least three children among the injured.
