Stratford High School in Taranaki has reopened after reports this morning of a man with a firearm in the area.
Police were called at around 8:20am with a report that a man on Swansea St was holding what appeared to be a firearm.
The school was put into lockdown and cordons were placed around the area.
For around three hours police searched for a person of interest but no arrests have been made.
