A man has been charged after a firearms incident in south Auckland on Friday where a man was shot in the leg, putting a school in lockdown.
The man, in his 50s, was shot in the leg at 12:40pm at a house on Hogan St, Pukekohe.
He was transported to hospital and his injuries are not life threatening, police said.
A 37-year-old man will appear in Manukau District Court on Saturday morning. His charges are not known.
Parata School was put in lockdown as a precaution following the incident, which was lifted later in the afternoon.
There was no threat to the public, police said.
