A person has been left seriously injured following a crash in the Bay of Plenty.
Police were called to the three-car crash on State Highway 2, near Apata Station Rd, at 3:30pm on Friday.
A helicopter was requested to take the injured person to hospital.
The road was closed and diversions put in place. The NZTA advises drivers in the area to be cautious.
The serious crash unit has been advised.
