He might have "not guilty" tattooed on his neck, but this Auckland man doesn't seem confident about his day in court.

Counties-Manukau Police are appealing for help to find Connor Saunders. He's wanted for a serious assault of a man on Campbell Drive, Warkworth, on 25 February 2018 - but has gone on the run.

"Connor has some very distinctive tattoos as you can see from his picture, including the words 'Not Guilty' tattooed on his neck and the word 'Loyalty' about his left eyebrow," police said.

"Connor is actively avoiding arrest and is considered dangerous and should NOT be approached. If you see him, please call 111 immediately."

It appears Saunders is not a fan of the police. He has taken to social media to post images of his crude tattoos and anti-social messages.

"If you have any information that you think might help Police to locate Connor, please contact Detective Brad Marshall on 021 191 4246," police said.

"Alternatively, contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or you can send us private message on Facebook."
