Police are investigating after two mystery deaths in a central Auckland suburb.

Two bodies were found at Dryden Lodge in Grey Lynn at 3:15pm on Tuesday afternoon, Newshub has learned.

The lodge is a halfway house.

Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin told Newshub police are not looking for anybody in relation to the deaths.

Ambulance staff also attended the scene, and pronounced the pair dead.

One man, who claims to be from Dryden Lodge, took to Facebook to say a double homicide had taken place at the property.

A Dryden Lodge resident confirmed the deaths had taken place there, and a police presence has been spotted on the premises.

The property has now been cordoned off and a scene examination is underway.

Police expect to have more information after completing a post-mortem examination and undertaking a formal identification process.
