A stunning piano version of the National Anthem has been released to mark Anzac Day.
Canterbury pianist Kris Baines says he hopes his version of God Defend New Zealand can help better reflect the song's meaning.
"I have a great love for our national anthem," he says.
"[I] find its key themes of divine defence and freedom a fitting tribute to those who fought and died for that freedom."
The music video shows Baines playing piano against different Canterbury landscapes, including fields of grass and rolling hills.
The video has been endorsed by WW100, the national group arranging World War One centennial events throughout New Zealand. It has gained more than 6000 views within its first three days on Facebook.
Wednesday marks 103 years since New Zealand soldiers landed in Gallipoli's Anzac Cove.
