A man has been charged with murder and aggravated burglary following a death in Merivale.
Canterbury police arrested the 54-year-old man on Sunday morning after a 27-year-old woman was found dead in her Exeter St home around 11:40am on Saturday.
Detectives and forensic specialists are currently examining two crime scenes and two vehicles in Christchurch.
The man will appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday.
