A man has died following a crash between a truck and a car on State Highway 1 in Karapiro.
Police were called to the scene on Tirau Rd, between Karapiro Rd and Gorton Rd, at 4:27am on Thursday.
The man who was killed was driving a ute.
The road is closed and drivers are asked to be patient and plan another route.
SH1 north is diverted onto SH29. SH1 south is diverted onto Victoria Rd and Maungatautari Rd.
