The police maritime unit is searching for a boat that has gone missing with two people on board.
A spokeswoman says it left Great Barrier Island after a fishing competition yesterday, and was due home at five pm on Friday.
The boat was reported overdue just before 12pm on Saturday.
Police say Coastguard has also been notified.
