Two people have died following a head-on crash in Northland on Monday night.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the car-on-car collision at 11:20pm on SH10, one kilometre south of Wakelin Road near Kerikeri.
One driver died at the scene and their passenger also died later on in the Bay of Islands Hospital.
Two others are also in hospital.
SH10 is closed and diversions are in place on Te Ahu Ahu Rd, Waimate North Rd, and Wiroa Rd.
