A white supremacist rally has been cancelled amid backlash surrounding the event.
National Front New Zealand had planned 'White New Zealand and Our Future' events in Dunedin and Christchurch, which were cancelled after widespread backlash online.
The Dunedin rally was expected to be held on Friday morning but National Front spokesman Kevin Gibson said it was cancelled.
Mr Gibson spoke with RadioLIVE Long Lunch host Leah Panapa on Thursday, where he claimed white New Zealand was being subjected to a "genocide".
"I think white New Zealand is dying out and I don't see a future for white New Zealand the way things are at the moment... I think we are living in anti-white times," he told RadioLIVE.
"White New Zealand are the only ethnicity that can't advocate for themselves, I think there is an anti-white bias."
His views didn't go down well with listeners. One sent a text to RadioLIVE which read "you are allowed to speak your view but you are so damn scary".
Other members of the public took to social media to share their thoughts about the event, one tweet reading "Let's shut this racist shit down".
Mr Gibson said the group planned to meet on Friday night to decide whether an event would be held on Saturday.
