One person died in a head-on crash in Auckland on Saturday night.
The accident happened just before 11pm on Te Irirangi Dr, East Tamaki in the northbound lane, just north of Accent Dr, police say.
One person was trapped and died shortly afterwards, despite CPR attempts.
Footage shot by Newshub showed the two cars were both heavily damaged.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
