An incident that saw a large number of armed police to descend on Waitakere township, west Auckland has been resolved.
Officers were seen in the area around 12pm on Wednesday and Bethells Rd was closed as part of the response.
At the time a witness told TVNZ she heard shooting.
As of 12:50 the road has been reopened and the cordon lifted. Police say a person has been co-operating with officers on the matter.
